Gym-snow

Snow snow snow, Well what a start to the New Year highest snow fall for years and the temperatures plummeting this snow will be here for a few days yet. I love the snow but be careful on the roads as driving in the snow it can be testing. The initial snow fall made getting down to the Gym (or back up) impossible so I made the decisions to close the club. We are back open again now I have had the road ploughed with a JCB but still is slippy coming down so take it steady. If we have anymore snow check the website to see if we are open or ring 01684 772920 I transfer the Gym phone to my mobile

Congratulations to Peter Bennets cracking his personal challenge set by the club last month and raised over £160 for Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis in the Tewkesbury & Cheltenham area.
Peter was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1997 and challenge consisted of travelling 125 miles (5 miles a day) on a mixture of machines at the club. Peter had to visit the club twice on some days to complete the challenge and is a inspiration to us all. Well done Peter.

Exercise of the month:
Leg Raise on the bench

Lower abdominal exercise. lie on the bench grab the bench or you can sit on your hands to make it easier. Legs together start with legs just of the floor then slowly raise them up to vertical then slowly lower back down without touching the ground . Start with 10 reps then build up to 20.

Monthly Challenge:

Congratulations to Sophie and John for being the top distance travellers in last month’s Mega Challenge both put in the time to and effort ( I had to keep printing off more sheets) . Both earnt themselves a Bottle of Bubbly.

This months challenge is on the stepper, a great machine for burning fat and increasing fitness as well as toning your legs.
Climb as many floors in the month of January and put them up on the board.
